Position Vacant - Canteen Supervisor

KNA is calling for applicants for a Canteen Supervisor.

A Canteen Supervisor is wanted to supervise the canteen at the Canoon Road netball courts on Saturday game days and occasionally Sundays. You will need the ability to coordinate processes and supervise volunteers in a warm and professional manner. Some experience or qualification in food preparation and hospitality is preferred.

Casual Weekend award pay rates apply.

Key Tasks

• To set up the Canteen early on game days, which are Saturdays of the winter May-Sept season, and gazetted gala days (Sundays).

• Ensure the Canteen is operational whilst there is demand for the service. Depending on demand, this typically requires hours of work from 7:00am to 3.00 pm (or as required) on competition days, and from 8:00 am to 1 pm on Sunday Gala Days.

• Implement food handling and hygiene regulations.

• Provide leadership and a positive environment for volunteers who assist in the canteen. Ensure volunteers are briefed on appropriate canteen procedures and guidelines

• Liaise with management on preparation and pricing of the canteen menu.

• Manage stock including the overseeing of stock ordering, order checking, communicating with suppliers, and minimising stock wastage

• Delegate tasks to others as required

• Assist with the cooking and serving of food

• Ensure WHS guidelines are observed at all times.

• Ensure all money is kept safe and secure while the Canteen is open for business

• Ensure that the Canteen is clean and tidy at the end of the day’s operation before leaving

Must have:

• The ability to coordinate and supervise others in a warm and professional manner

• Knowledge and appropriate accreditation in Safe Food Handling (or be willing to obtain)

• Preferably some experience in food hospitality and/or preparation

• Basic financial management skills
