In 2009, KNA has set in place a program to build on the outstanding result of 31 accredited coaches achieved in 2008.
The Mission Statement for Coaching at KNA: “To Encourage and assist KNA Club Coaches to develop their coaching skills”
In 2008 Netball Australia introduced a new coaching accreditation framework. The aim of the new framework is to assist coaches to successfully move through the Coach Education pathway.
The major change to the coaching framework was the six-tier progression, with each stage being accredited, rather than the previous three-tier pathway. The names of each of the courses also changed to reflect the level of skills required.
Some of the changes were required due to the need for coaches to be more mindful of inclusive coaching practices, risk management, child protection, member protection and immediate first aid. Other changes were made to bridge the gap between courses.
